Friends of Concord Creeks sponsor Galindo Creek Cleanup
On Saturday, April 20, 2024 the Friends of Concord Creeks hosted a Galindo Creek Cleanup event at Newhall Park. It was a smashing Earth Day success: roughly 30 people managed to remove about 3 cubic yards of debris!
And a shout out to Concord Public Works staff, who helped support the event, including Brian and Tyce.
On a beautiful spring Saturday, the Friends of Concord Creeks mobilized dozens of volunteers to pull soggy, sloppy trash out of Galindo Creek in Newhall Park. It was a great opportunity for community members to come together, meet each other, and take care of their local park.
I'm always happy to support events like this: residents working together to make Concord a better place to live for everyone.
Concord Public Works staff were on hand to provide pickers and bags. A few hundred feet of Galindo Creek were covered during the event.
