Contra Costa Fruit Rescue Looking for Property Owners with Fruit Trees
Contra Costa Fruit Rescue (CCFR) is looking for property owners in Contra Costa County with fruit trees that they are willing to donate to their program. They harvest fruit from these trees and donate it to local food banks and social service agencies, where it is distributed to people in need.
I am 100% behind these kinds of grassroots efforts!
CCFR is a volunteer-run organization that has been rescuing fruit from backyard trees in Contra Costa County since 2012. They have harvested over 100,000 pounds of fruit in that time, and have donated it to over 50 different organizations.
They are looking for property owners with fruit trees of all types, including apples, pears, plums, peaches, oranges, lemons, and more. They are also interested in harvesting from trees that are located in underserved communities.
If you are a property owner in Contra Costa County with fruit trees that you would like to donate to CCFR, please visit their website at [click here] or call them at the phone number on their webpage for more information.
And please consider volunteering to help them harvest.
