Concord City Council
Governing Body
The City Council of Concord is the governing body of the city. There are five elected members, each serving four-year terms. The City Council meets regularly to discuss and vote on a variety of issues, and to give direction to city staff on policy matters. Part of that process is to receive public input through public comment and public hearings.
City council members represent all of the residents of Concord, but they are elected by the voters in each of the five city council voting districts. Council Meetings
The City Council meets on the 1st, 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, typically at 6:30 PM in the Council Chamber at the Civic Center, located at 1950 Parkside Drive. The City Council is responsible for making policy decisions for the city. This includes setting the city's budget, approving land use plans, and overseeing the city's public safety and public works departments. The City Council also appoints members to various boards and commissions, which provide advice and recommendations on a variety of topics.
